South Africa's National Association of People Living with HIV/AIDS (NAPWA) has become the latest supporter of German-born vitamin entrepreneur, Matthias Rath.
According to NAPWA's provincial co-ordinator, Mluleki Zazini, Rath has already held talks with his association's local branches as well as the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) to forge a working relationship.
The local Daily Dispatch newspaper quoted Mluleki as saying, "The Rath foundation approached NAPWA and SANCO to sell their vitamins in a meeting last month. They are going to organise a workshop for us before we can start selling their vitamins."
Rath and his Cape Town-based Health Foundation have come under a barrage of criticism for promoting the benefits of his vitamin therapy as an alternative to antiretrovirals, which he claims are toxic.
