Somalia market, export stats now online

The FAO Food Price Index averaged 169 points in February, down 2.6 percent (4.5 points) from January FAO
Detailed statistics about markets and exports in Somalia over the past 15 years have been placed online by a body of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization.

Initially, the Integrated Database System of the Food Security and Nutritional Analysis Unit covers market prices, as well as exports of livestock, gum, frankincense and hides and skins. The datasets, which can be fine-tuned by precise geographical location and time period, can be exported into a spreadsheet.

The service will be expanded with further datasets in 2011.
