A Spanish Roman Catholic priest, Father Isidro Uzcudun, was murdered at the weekend in his parish of Mugina, southwest Rwanda, the Vatican news agency FIDES reported. It said the 69 year-old priest was attacked by three armed people, one wearing a military uniform, who broke into his office and asked for money. However, they were dissatisfied with the amount and shot him dead. Police are investigating the murder. Father Uzcudun arrived in Rwanda in 1963 and had spent 15 of his 37 years in the country in Mugina parish.
