La FAO crée un fonds spécial pour la sécurité alimentaire

L'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO) a créé un fonds spécial pour aider les pays à maintenir leur production alimentaire et à renforcer la surveillance et le contrôle des maladies transfrontières des animaux , apprend-on ce mercredi auprès de la FAO. Le montant initial ciblé par le Fonds spécial de la FAO pour la sécurité alimentaire et la prévention des situations d'urgence liées aux organismes nuisibles et aux maladies transfrontières des animaux et des plantes [FAO Trust Fund for Food Security and for Emergency Prevention of Transboundary Pests and Diseases of Animals and Plants] s'élève à 500 millions de dollars. Il sera financé par des contributions volontaires des gouvernements, des organisations intergouvernementales, des ONG , du secteur privé et d'autres sources.
