    بعد تحمل عناء رحلات طويلة محفوفة بالمخاطر عبر الصحراء الكبرى، غالباً ما يعانون خلالها من الخطف والعنف على أيدي المهربين، يتعرض المهاجرون وطالبو اللجوء الذين يصلون في نهاية المطاف إلى ليبيا لخطر الاعتقال والسجن لفترات طويلة في واحد من 20 مركز احتجاز رسمي في البلاد - كلها مكتظة وتعاني من نقص التمويل.

    حصلت شبكة الأنباء الإنسانية (إيرين) على فرصة نادرة لدخول أحد مراكز الاحتجاز على مشارف مدينة مصراته الساحلية، حيث يتم حبس آلاف المهاجرين لعدة أشهر وإجبارهم على العمل في ظروف بائسة.
