Uganda government under pressure to boost ARV funding

 KAMPALA, 14 March 2013 (IRIN Africa) - The Ugandan government's draft 2013/2014 budget allocates US$38.5 million to enrol a further 100,000 people living with HIV on life-prolonging antiretroviral (ARV) drugs. Third-line ARVs could widen treatment gap in Zimbabwe

Fewer pregnant women with HIV in Congo

 BRAZZAVILLE, 18 January 2013 (IRIN Africa) - The HIV infection rate has declined among pregnant women in the Republic of Congo from 3.4 percent in 2009 to 2.8 percent in 2012, according to a study by the Ministry of Health, which said it had taken specific action to help this section of the population. full report
