Somalia: Lama Huraan - Indispensable

IRIN Radio's Somali series, entitled "Lama Huraan" - meaning "Indispensable" - is a gripping drama set in the imaginary village of Tub Ano ("Milk Road"). As villagers return to Tub Ano, some of them after many years spent in displacement and misery, they have to grapple with issues of banditry and insecurity, bitter rivalry among village elders and aspiring leaders, and how best to confront the future with education and health services all in disarray.
