DRC: Who's Who - Individuals
Adèle Mugisa Lotsoye - First Hema governor of Ituri, appointed by Uganda in 1999. Blamed for inflaming the situation. Now a senior official in the UPC.

Chief Kahwa Mandro - Traditional Hema leader. A military leader in the UPC. Reportedly now a rival of Lubanga.

Col Arosha - UDPF commander in Ituri December 1999 - April 2000.

Col Charles Angina - UPDF sector commander from July 2000.

Col Edson Muzoora - UPDF commander from early 2001 until November 2001.

Col Peter Kerim - a UPDF commander with family links to the Alur ethnic group who allegedly supported Lendu militia.

Ernest Uringi Padolo - Alur governor of Ituri from December 1999 to early 2001. Now allied with Nymawisi's RCD-K-ML.

Jacques Depelchin - RCD-ML official charged with pacification under Wamba.

Jean-Baptiste Dhetchuvi Matchu - Hema UPC member. Former professor in Rwanda.

Jean-Baptiste Tibasima Mbogemu Atenyi - Most prominent Hema leader in RCD-K-ML. A former manager of Kilomoto gold mines. Jointly overthrew Wamba with Nyamwisi.

Jean-Pierre Bemba - Leader of the MLC, son of leading businessman Jeannot Bemba Saolona, who was close to ex-president Mobutu.

Jean-Pierre Molondo - from Kasai. Appointed governor of Ituri in February 2002 by Nyamwisi. Overthrown in August 2002.

Joseph Eneku - From Aru, made governor of Ituri in December 2001. Killed in an ambush, 22 November 2002.

Léonard Dhejju - Hema former Catholic Bishop of Bunia. Resigned (under pressure from Rome, some reports say) on 6 April 2002.

Col Anthony Kyakabale - UPDF commander in Ituri replaced in December 1999. Threatened a rebellion against Museveni in July 2001. He is later reported to have moved to Sweden.

Mbusa Nyamwisi - A Nande businessman, now the head of RCD-K-ML based in Beni.

Prof Ernest Wamba dia Wamba - Original president of the RCD in August 1998. From Bas-Congo. Former professor in Tanzania. Now leader of the RCD-ML.

Prof Pilo Kamaragi - Hema community "spokesman". Former head of local Red Cross

Roger Lumbala Tshitenge - Was deputy head of RCD-Goma in December 1999. Now leader of RCD-N. Originally from Bafwasende.

Thomas Lubanga - Hema (Gegere) leader of UPC. Formerly a senior military commander in the RCD-K-ML under Nyamwisi.
