Camatondo is IRIN Radio's weekly soap opera mirroring day-to-day life in rural Angola. In Camatondo - a fictitious village in the central highlands - returning refugees and displaced people set about rebuilding their lives after years of war and suffering. The drama voices the problems, concerns, joys and aspirations of ordinary Angolans. The programme conveys information on issues ranging from agricultural techniques to civic and electoral education, from childrens' rights to food security and health. Camatondo has a special focus on malaria and HIV/AIDS.
