The Right to Stay - Fighting slum evictions in Kenya

In the Mukuru slum, one of the biggest in Nairobi, a group of residents has decided to go to court to demand the right to the land on which they live and an end to forced evictions. Kenya adopted a new constitution in 2010, which protects the right to housing and sanitation. The case may have far-reaching implications in a city where 60 percent of the population lives in slums.

Mauritania’s ex-refugees want land, ID cards
